A layered, weather-aware animation system that gives the app a living, breathing feel — all running smoothly at 60fps.
The background is composed of four independent animated LinearGradient layers stacked on top of each other, each cycling at different speeds (6s, 8s, and 10s loops) to create a smooth, non-repeating fluid effect.
Three wave panels sit above the gradient, each sweeping horizontally across the screen at different speeds (10s, 18s, and 20s) and vertical offsets, creating a gentle, rolling ocean-wave effect at the bottom of the screen.
The gradient palette shifts automatically based on current conditions — blues and teals for clear skies, deeper purples and grays for storms and overcast, warm ambers for sunrise and sunset conditions.
All animation colors adapt in real time when switching between light and dark mode. Light mode uses brighter, softer gradients; dark mode deepens the palette for a richer, more immersive atmosphere.
Animations run on the native UI thread using React Native Reanimated's native driver, ensuring buttery-smooth 60fps performance without interfering with JavaScript logic or API calls.
Animations can be turned off in Settings for users who prefer a static background or want to conserve battery. Disabling animations instantly resets all layers to a clean, static state.

How Weather View collects, uses, and protects your information.
Ananti ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Weather View mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your information. By downloading, installing, or using Weather View, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We retain analytics and diagnostic data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, typically no longer than 24 months. Location data is used in real time and is not stored by Ananti. User-generated data stored locally on your device (such as scheduled events) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect the information associated with your use of the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You use the App at your own risk.
Weather View is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child, we will take prompt steps to delete it. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.

The rules and guidelines governing your use of Weather View.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Weather View mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not download, install, or use the App. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Ananti.

Weather View is a mobile application developed and operated by Ananti that provides users with real-time weather data, forecasts, radar imagery, air quality information, tidal data, astronomical data, local events listings, and related travel companion utilities. The App is currently available on Android, with iOS availability planned. The App is offered free of charge and is supported by in-app advertising.
Weather View is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may use the App on any device that you own or control. You may not sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, assign, or otherwise commercially exploit or make available to any third party the App or your right to use the App.
You agree that you will not use the App to:
Weather View displays meteorological data sourced from third-party providers including OpenWeatherMap, Radar.io, and others. While we strive to present accurate and current information, weather conditions can change rapidly and data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Weather View is intended for general informational purposes only. You should not rely solely on information provided by Weather View when making decisions that affect your safety or the safety of others, including but not limited to decisions related to travel, outdoor activities, emergency preparedness, or navigation. Always consult official sources such as the National Weather Service or your local meteorological authority for safety-critical weather information.
Weather View is a free application supported by in-app advertising delivered through Google AdMob. By using the App, you consent to the display of advertisements. We do not endorse any products or services advertised within the App. Advertisements are selected and delivered by Google in accordance with Google's advertising policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or the products or services they promote.
The App and all of its content, features, functionality, design, graphics, logos, icons, text, and software are owned by Ananti and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
All third-party trademarks, service marks, and logos displayed within the App (including those of OpenWeatherMap, Ticketmaster, Google, and Radar.io) are the property of their respective owners.
The App integrates with and may display links to third-party services including Ticketmaster, OpenWeatherMap, Google AdMob, Firebase, and Radar.io. These third-party services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50.00).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ananti and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the App; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of [State to be added], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in [State to be added], and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve any dispute informally by providing written notice of your claim to our contact address below. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days of receiving your notice. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may pursue formal legal remedies as provided in the Governing Law section above.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, all rights and licenses granted to you will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — shall survive.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by Ananti within the App, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ananti with respect to the App and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings.
